Walter Nicoletti, the italian Oscar® qualified director, actor and producer, member of the Online Film & Television Association of the United States of America and member of the Independent Spirit Awards of Los Angeles, produced an award-short film movie called MIA in 2018 with his production company Voce Spettacolo.

The short film won the 2018 Miami Spring International Film Festival, was a finalist at the 2018 New York Mobile Film Festival, selected at Tulipani di Seta Nera Festival in 2018, selected by Rai Cinema Channel and aired on first italian television channel Rai Uno, selected at the 2018 Time Line Film Festival, Corto Nero Noir Short Film Competition 2018, Super 9 Mobile Film Festival 2018, African Smartphone International Film Festival 2018, and Corti a Sud-Polla in Corto 2018.

MIA tells the story of Lucia, an aspiring youtuber engaged with Marco, a boy who becomes aggressive and violent so much to publish online her intimate videos and photo. But Wednesday, april, 8, 2023, the trailer of an italian film called MIA was released with the same plot, story and title and will be in theaters on april, 6, 2023. It’s a simple coincidence or is this a case of plagiarism of film work?
