The 6th edition of the Voce Spettacolo Film Festival concluded last night with the Awards Ceremony held at the Guerrieri Cineteatro in Matera in the presence of distinguished guests and protagonists.

Great success also for the documentary The Legend of King Barbarossa by Maurizio Masciullo and the Trailer of the new short film by Walter Nicoletti and David Cinnella qualified for the 2024 Academy Awards, with an all-Lucan cast: Cosimo Frascella, Gabriele Grano, Brunella Lamacchia, Walter Nicoletti, Franco Piccinni, Donato Cirella and Nestor Romero.

The film festival, founded and produced by Voce Spettacolo of Matera, directed by Matera-based actor Walter Nicoletti, focuses on the discovery of young talent and aims to promote the work of filmmakers from Italy and the rest of the World.

For this 6th edition, works were received from Italy, the United States, Australia, France, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

But let’s come to the winners. In the prestigious category BEST FILM wins CHE BELLA STORIA LA VITA by Alessandro Sarti. The award was presented by Matera-based actor and director Antonio Andrisani in the presence also of the work’s co-author, Roberto Caneschi. MENTION OF HONOR for Tuscan actor Sergio Forconi, star of the film shot entirely in Tuscany. Forconi has appeared in many films such as ‘Berlinguer ti voglio bene,’ ‘Madonna che silenzio c’è stasera,’ ‘Zitti e Mosca,’ ‘I laureati,’ ‘Il ciclone,’ ‘Albergo Roma,’ ‘Il pesce innamorato,’ ‘I mostri oggi,’ Garrone’s Pinocchio, and starred in the TV series ‘Linda and the Brigadier,’ ‘Carabinieri,’ ‘La squadra,’ ‘Un medico in famiglia,’ ‘Orgoglio,’ ‘La dottoressa Giò,’ ‘Don Matteo,’ ‘Il Commissario Manara,’ ‘Il mostro di Firenze,’ and many others.

Representing the Jury was Basilicata Notizie journalist Silvia Silvestri, who was present for the occasion in awarding the prize for BEST ACTRESS to Sandra Milo. In the SHORT category, the winner was Andrea Antonio Vico’s SABBIE MOBILI. Receiving the award presented by Michele Di Gioia, Director of the Matera Sport Film Festival, were the director and lead actress Carlotta Parodi. For the DOCUMENTARY category we move to Venice with the victory of LAGUNARIA by Giovanni Pellegrini. In the BEST VIDEOCLIP category, SPERIAMO BENE by Alberto Gatto wins. The WEB JURY Award goes to 101 by Matteo Mavero. In the BEST PRODUCER category wins Sabrina Scansani for the film THE PIRATE: MEMORIES FROM SPOON RIVER. The BEST ACTOR award is given to Roberto Galano for the film VERTICAL MAN. Best Director is Catrinel Marlon and Daniele Testi for the short film OSSA. The BEST EDITING award goes to the American webseries IMPOSTER by Shayda Frost. Finally, the award for BEST DRONE VIDEO is given to MY AUSTRALIA by Chris Tangey.

The beauty of the seventh art the red thread that ran through the entire programming modulating emotions through the viewing of stories that have become thematic aggregators, which was complemented by the focus on national and international cinema, thanks to the official presentation of the VS Oscar Qualifying Program, which will allow Italian directors and producers of short films to be able to qualify and enter the Oscar Awards thanks to the exclusive distribution of Voce Spettacolo in Hollywood.

And so the goal was achieved in this 6th edition, that of giving the City of the Sassi an evening of cinema.
