The highly anticipated feature film “Two Lives in Pittsburgh” will premiere at “Dances with Films” in Hollywood on Sunday, June 25 at 7:15pm.
Written and directed by Brian Silverman, “Two Lives in Pittsburgh” is an indie film about a traditional blue-collar guy who is torn between who he has always been and who needs to be as he is confronted by his mother’s illness and his child’s exploration of gender. With the 24-hour news cycle dominated by headlines involving culture wars and gender issues, “Two Lives in Pittsburgh” is a catalyst for thoughtful, compassionate, and intelligent dialogue – a film that meets opposing sides in the middle. The premiere at “Dances with Films” will be followed by a Q&A with the director, producer Lola Noh, cinematographer Tiffany Murray, editor Miguel Amodio, and cast and crew members.
Since 1998, “Dances with Films” has grown from presenting a handful of films to becoming a top-ten festival nationally and the largest indie film festival in Los Angeles with more than 20,000 attendees each year. Showcasing narrative features, documentaries, music videos, shorts, and pilots, DWF relies on quality, creativity, and sweat equity to earn recognition for top-tier, innovative cinema. The festival is tracked by industry in Los Angeles with multiple deals made each year. Presenting unparalleled new talent, DWF returns to the famed Chinese Theatres in Hollywood for 11 days from June 22 – July 2.
Director Silverman says, “We are honored to premiere at DWF, and I hope the viewer connects to the journey of a person confronting their own biases to accept with love and understanding something they always looked at with enmity and suspicion.”
