High temperatures didn’t stop showgoers from showcasing standout denim street style at Paris Men’s Fashion Week.

Though denim shorts were prominent on the runway, most attendees chose to wear jeans, with styles ranging from cropped and wide to long and lean. Flare jeans brought a retro vibe, while cuffed selvedge jeans delivered American nostalgia.

The hot weather called for stripped-down looks. Ripped and destroyed denim was styled with tanks and barely buttoned shirts. Away from the runway, off-duty models kept it simple with shrunken tees and baggy jeans.

Denim allowed showgoers to show off their creative sides. Pearl and crystal embellishments, patchwork denim with contrasting washes, rip and repair and small embroideries decorated men’s jeans and jackets. Other denim garments served as a canvas to showcase collections of buttons and other small charms.

Others relied on light layers and relaxed tailoring. Button-down denim shirt worn open over white T-shirts and tanks was a go-to solution. Large belt buckles, neck scarves and ’70s sunglasses kept the basics interesting.

Classic blue jeans were routinely paired with summer-weight jackets, ranging from a linen double-breasted blazer to a bold red jacket with gold buttons.
