Cannes unrolls, even metaphorically, a red carpet for the American star Tom Cruise who lands on the Croisette with the sequel to one of his most famous films: Top Gun Maverik. 36 years after the sensational success of the film, directed at the time by Tony Scott, the almost 60-year-old actor kept his promise and shot Top Gun: Maverick, a real nostalgia operation that keeps the promise of living up to its matrix. “Cinema is my love, my passion. When I was a child I dreamed of planes and films, I wanted adventure, I was a dreamer. I wrote stories and characters and even today I only think about the future ”he told in the Sala Debussy of the Palais du festival where he received a standing ovation in the masterclass. Cruise and the cast, including Jennifer Connelly and Miles Teller (who plays Goose's son) attended the photocall.
